Vacations are great for the soul…

… but 5 lbs later I must admit they aren’t great for my waistline! Nonetheless, I must say that North Carolina and

Georgia are just gorgeous! I am glad that we got a couple of bicycle rides in, but some of those mountains (some people call them hills) are waaaay to steep for me to ride there for any amount of time. Atlanta has a great concrete multi-use trail that runs the length of the Big Creek Greenway, just beautiful, cool with all the trees and fairly easy to ride… and I admit I did find myself speeding a lot (esp. downhill), not quite being able to stay below the posted 10 mph  limit.  I now have to explore the bicycle trails here in

Milwaukee, I hope I can find some cool/scenic ones in my neighborhood.  So I am going to get back on track with my weight/fitness goals, I’ve really been slacking off lately, but there’s always time to get back on track. Have a great day everyone!

Partying..

Yesterday was my company’s holiday party, lots of food. Both my Jamie and I did ok, avoiding the booze and making a lot of smart choices (except for those two huge chocolate covered strawberries I had ;)).

Today we opted not to head to a family party though and instead enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers football game from home. We avoided all the snacking and shared a California Pizza Kitchen BBQ Chicken Pizza. Yum. :)

Go Pack! We’re looking forward to the next game. :)
Y’all have a great weekend!

Husband Aboard!

Yay! This is day three of my hubby being aboard with a new nutrition plan. I changed my diet some time ago, but so far was doing this whole weight loss thing by myself. Last Monday, we opened a FitDay food journal account for him, and oh my there was an epiphany ”Coke has a lot of calories, tangerines not that much.”

Limiting calories, and especially sodium (!),  lead to a 3 lb. weight loss for him in 2 days. That’s great motivation for him, and I’m happy to have him aboard the weight loss train. :)

Let’s keep it up!
